From our self-catering hoiday homes, you are ideally placed to explore The Burren National Park, the renowned Cliffs of Moher and the inland waterways of the Shannon Region. The Burren is world renowned for the stark beauty of its elevated limestone karst hills and the biodiversity of its unique ecological environment; including some of the most specacular wildflower meadows you are likely to see anywhere, full of orchids and many rare species of flora and fauna - indeed, species which are very rare elsewhere, yet are abundant here.
A recent noteworthy development is that in 2011 The Burren National Park, together with the Cliffs of Moher, was granted Global Geopark status by UNESCO. This newly titled Burren and Cliffs of Moher Geopark encompasses sites of international geological and cultural interest, as well as walking routes such as The Burren Way, and the Burren Ecotourism Network, of which BurrenEscape (Cragmoher House and Courtyard) is a member.
